Privacy Policy of MatchWords
MatchWords operates the https://apps.apple.com/uy/app/matchwords-build-words/id1612434602 website, which provides the SERVICE.
This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service, the MatchWords website.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy was created with the help of the Privacy Policy Template Generator.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at https://apps.apple.com/uy/app/matchwords-build-words/id1612434602, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
MatchWords does not ask you for your name, your phone number, your postal address, or any other information that identifies you personally, and it has no accounts to sign up for. The name you can set inside the game is stored on your device and is only sent anywhere if you choose to share a challenge with someone, so that they can see who challenged them.
Analytics and diagnostics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to count how the game is used and to receive crash reports. These record events such as a game starting or ending, and technical details such as your device model, operating system version and app version.
Your player ID
To count people rather than installations — and to stop the same person replaying a challenge they have already played — the app generates a random identifier the first time it runs and stores it in the device keychain. It is a random value: it is not derived from you, from your device's serial number, or from any account, and it is attached only to game data such as board configurations and scores.
This identifier deliberately survives deleting the app, and can also be carried to a new device by an encrypted device backup. That is what lets the app recognise a returning player rather than counting them as a new one. It is not shared between different people's devices.
You can see it at any time: open Settings in the app and look under Miscellaneous, below the version number. Tapping it copies it, along with the app version, so you can paste it into a message to us.
Deleting your data
Send us the player ID from the Settings screen and we will delete the analytics profile and the challenge data associated with it. Because that identifier is the only key we hold, we cannot find your data without it.
Challenges you create expire and are deleted automatically seven days after they are made, whether or not you ask for anything.
Log Data
When something goes wrong in the app, diagnostic information is collected — the kind of device, the operating system version, the app version, and the sequence of events leading to the problem — so the fault can be found and fixed.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
